At Grant we understand the importance of choosing the right heating system for your new home, to suit your requirements and keep you and your family warm and comfortable for many years to come.

Starting to plan your heating from the outset is very important as every home has different requirements and with a growing focus on sustainability, carbon reduction, and reducing environmental impact, incorporating renewable energy sources into your home heating design can help to future-proof your home.

This is where we can help, with our Integrated Heating Packages for New Builds, which are individually tailored for every new build home to help ensure warmth and comfort whilst achieving compliance, maximising efficiencies, and delivering long-term financial and carbon savings.

What is an Integrated Heating Package?

Grant’s Integrated Heating Packages for New Builds are designed by our in-house technical specialists to suit your property and your lifestyle. All the heating technologies featured within each package are designed to work together and are correctly sized and specified, which is vitally important to maximise efficiencies and long-term savings. Each heating package includes a main heat source such as the Grant Aerona³ R32 air-to-water air source heat pump, a Grant Integrated Unit for hot water storage unit and heat emitters, whether underfloor heating, aluminium radiators, or both. There is also an option to install smart heating controls within each package. Each integrated heating package is designed as part of our free of charge home heating design service.

What is involved in the Grant home heating design process?

Our free home heating design service helps new build homes achieve compliance as required under building regulations. This not only helps to save time on the project, but also provides peace of mind from knowing that our technical specialists are taking all your considerations on board and designing the best-suited home heating solution for your home.

  1. Heat Loss Calculations

The first stage in the home heating design service begins when we receive your house plans. Using these plans, our technical specialists carry out room by room heat loss calculations. This information provides the heat load requirements for each room and helps to calculate the heat pump output, the hot water demands and underfloor heating and/or radiators for your home. This service is free of charge and easy to avail of by simply sending your planning drawings and preference of heat emitters to heatpump@grantengineering.ie

  1. Sizing your Heat Pump & Hot Water Cylinder

Once heat loss calculations are finalised and the heat load for each room within the property is known, correctly sized heating products are specified for your property. The Grant Aerona³ R32 air to water air source heat pumps are an increasingly popular choice for new builds because they help to achieve compliance and provide an energy efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective way to heat your home.

Once the heat source for the property is identified, a high performance, energy efficient hot water cylinder will be selected to support the system’s overall efficiency and work effectively with the heat pump. The Grant Integrated Unit provides innovative hot water storage which has been developed to work seamlessly with the Grant Aerona³ R32 air to water air source heat pump range, ensuring homeowners can avail of an optimum efficiency, complete heating solution.

  1. Selecting Underfloor heating, Aluminum Radiators or both

Underfloor heating and aluminium radiators are great choices of heat emitters for individual rooms in your new build home. Designed to effectively distribute heat within the home, modern heat emitters offer versatility to support the overall design and architecture of the space whilst also creating comfort.

Once you have selected the appropriate heat emitters for your home, our technical specialists will design your bespoke Uflex underfloor heating system, correctly size your Grant Afinia aluminium radiators and integrate smart controls to bring your new build home into a new class of efficiency and comfort.

  1. Quotations and Ensuring compliance

From the information submitted with your plans, a detailed quotation will be provided including a list of materials bespoke to your home. The price will include a breakdown of the required sized air to water air source heat pump, a suitable domestic hot water solution and the agreed heating emitters, which may include the Grant Uflex underfloor heating or the Grant Afinia aluminium radiators and controls. All specified products will be supplied and purchased through your local heating and plumbing merchant.

Our team of technical specialists provide peace of mind by helping to ensure compliance with all heating requirements for your new build home.

  1. Engaging your Installer

All Grant heating products are supplied through your local heating and plumbing merchant. The installation is then carried out by a trained and competent installer.

  1. Commissioning your system

Following installation, your Grant Aerona³ R32 air to water air source heat pump will be commissioned on site by Grant at no extra charge. Your installer will contact Grant to arrange this and agree a suitable date and time. This process will ensure that the unit is installed correctly, set up to match the house requirements and you will be shown how to operate the system controls.

  1. Distribution & Aftercare Service

A full aftercare service is provided by the Grant Service Network, and your local installer. Should any spare parts be required at any time, these can be supplied promptly to your installer through this dedicated network. The Customer Care team is also available for any other information you may require.
