Benefits of installing Grant Uflex Underfloor Heating
  |

Grant’s Uflex underfloor heating system is an increasingly popular choice of heat emitter with self-builders throughout Ireland due to its unobtrusive design and high efficiency levels. When considering how to heat individual rooms within your new build home there are many reasons to choose underfloor heating.

Versatile Heat Emitter

The Grant Uflex underfloor heating system is a versatile heat emitter that works effectively with a main heat source, such as the Grant Aerona³ R32 air to water heat pump, to deliver high efficiencies and maximise long term savings on heating bills because both technologies operate at low temperatures and so use less energy.

 Modern and Minimalistic Look

The Uflex system offers versatility to support the overall design and architecture of the space whilst also creating comfort. Underfloor heating is the perfect heat emitter choice for those who prefer a modern and minimalistic look as it is an invisible heat source and heat will not be blocked off by furniture.

 Health Benefits

In addition to bringing warmth and comfort to a home, the Grant Uflex also brings health benefits as installing underfloor heating results in increased hygiene levels due to reduced air circulation transferring dust particles throughout the home.

Specified to Suit the Requirements of the Property

As part of Grant’s free-of-charge home heating design service, when underfloor heating is selected as a heat emitter within the property, the technical team develop plans specifically for the Uflex underfloor heating system in individual rooms based on flow rates and heat loss calculations for each room. This provides invaluable support to the contractors on the project as it saves time and gives reassurance that the heating system has been professionally sized and specified to suit the requirements of the property.

 Easily Installed and Optimal Control

The Grant Uflex underfloor heating system is easily installed and offers optimal control with individual zone heating and comfort. It is especially suited under tile and hardwood flooring in kitchens, bathrooms, and open plan areas and is embedded in the floor's construction during the build.

How does Grant Uflex Underfloor Heating work?

The installation of underfloor heating consists of a series of flexible pipes being laid within the floor through where hot water flows, hence transferring heat upwards and radiating heat evenly into a room. Underfloor heating does not rely on air circulation to disperse heat throughout a room. As the entire floor is radiating heat, even dispersal of heat is given to all areas of the house eliminating any cold spots.

The installation of underfloor heating consists of laying floor insulation, a membrane brace, clipping the pipework into place, and adding a layer of suitable screed of 75mm thickness layered over the pipework.

Underfloor heating works effectively with an air to water air source heat pump, helping to save energy and money as both systems work at low temperatures to use less energy. It can also work well with high-temperature systems featuring a condensing oil boiler.
