New build home in Athlone installs Grant Aerona³ heat pump in a bid to increase sustainability
  |

A beautifully constructed new build home, part of the Loch Luatha Estate in Athlone, Co Westmeath has recently installed a Grant Aerona³ heat pump as part of a bespoke integrated heating package from Grant to maximise the long-term sustainability of the home.

The house which has been built on part of the luxurious Mount Temple golf course, only a few miles outside of Athlone, Co. Westmeath has welcomed a bespoke heating system, designed by the expertly trained team of Grant technical specialists. The installation included a 17kW Grant Aerona³ R32 air to water air source heat pump, 300 litre Grant pre-plumbed hot water cylinder, 30 litre Grant Volumiser and both the Grant Afinia aluminum radiators and smart heating controls.

The Grant team of technical experts carried out room by room heat loss calculations on receipt of the planning drawings from Thomas Nooney, the designated installer on this project. This enabled the team to design a bespoke heating system for the home in line with the calculated 15kW heat load.

Working alongside the Grant technical team, Thomas Nooney, a highly experienced installer of Grant heating technologies, installed this bespoke heating system complete with heating controls which includes EPH room stats and motorised valves.

The 17kW Aerona³ air to water air source heat pump chosen for this build has exceptional efficiencies achieving a SCOP of 5:4:1 and with an energy rating of A+++. Awarded the Quiet Mark for its quiet operation, this unit was chosen by the homeowner for its high operating efficiency.

A 300l A-rated Grant pre-plumbed and pre-wired cylinder was chosen to supply the property with 24/7 hot water. Grant hot water cylinders are designed to heat water faster and more efficiently than standard cylinders. To compliment the system, highly efficient Grant Afinia radiators were installed. The Grant Afinia aluminum radiator range is a great choice to heat individual rooms within the home as these modern heat emitters can efficiently distribute heat, whilst offering versatility to support the overall design and architecture of the space.

To control the heating system, the owner opted for Grant smart controls, which can be set to provide different room temperatures and different time intervals on individual heating zones, with the click of a button. The Grant smart controls system can be controlled via a slim and stylish standalone thermostat or by an app on your smartphone.
