The HVO biofuel compatible Grant Vortex condensing boiler has been awarded ‘Innovative Product of the Year’ at the NI Plumbing & Heating Awards 2022.
This is the second allocate for the Grant Vortex in 2022 after it was awarded ‘Best Renewable Energy Product’ at the SEAI Energy Show 2022 earlier this year. The product was also recognised as a finalist in the sustainability category of The Irish Times Innovation Awards 2021.
Acknowledging the years of R&D and product innovation, judges for the Plumbing & Heating Awards considered the HVO Biofuel Compatible Grant Vortex Condensing Boiler as a real breakthrough in renewable energy research. The product was classified as “the future for the Irish market.” This condensing boiler uses 100% Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), which can result in an approximate reduction of 88% in carbon emissions.
With energy bills on the rise, the competitive price of the Grant Vortex was also mentioned by the judges as a bonus. The panel was also impressed by the fact that older Grant condensation boilers can be adapted to HVO with a suitable biofuel burner.
Grant was also highly commended in the category ‘Green Technology Project of the Year,’ for their involvement in the Rural-Led Energy Transition, SPIRE 2 Project.
Commenting on the awards, Stephen Grant, Founder said, “We are delighted to receive this continued recognition for our HVO Biofuel compatible Grant Vortex condensing boiler. By using 100% HVO for heating, we can help meet carbon emissions targets and enable rural and hard to heat homes to transition to a renewable green alternative from 100% kerosene at an affordable cost and minimum disruption to their home lives. Looking forward to the future, using 100% HVO can provide a more sustainable way to heat existing homes.”
